The local Post Office manager is one of the most confident people I know. She is also my boss, and I have found her to be approachable and fair when I have done something wrong (I am comparatively new to my job and only work part-time) and is quick to praise when things go well.

She is well-known locally, and has many contacts, some of whom she helps, and some who help her, and her job keeps her in close contact with the Parish council so she gains snippets of information about local events. Of course, she has many conversations with customers that visit the Post Office, which is also a gift shop.

In these busy days when everyone travels by car, and connects by phone, it is nice to see a good old fashioned local hub, run by a local person willing to be a pillar of the community.
