Find something else to do

…if possible.

I try, if something’s not working for me, to leave it for a while and do something else, like going for a walk, doing puzzles or even making the tea. I will then return to the task in hand once I’ve had a break.

However, I do work for a Post Office three days a week and there’s often no real escape from the tasks performed there, so I do go home tired. However, getting away from it at lunchtime, getting fresh air and having a picnic doing puzzles helps.

I also find the journey home eases stress. When I used to drive to work at a job much further away, I found travelling home just added to the stress. Now I work locally, I walk or cycle instead, and again, fresh air really helps.

How do you manage stress?
