Wuthering Heights…

reached number one in the charts in 1978. The song written and sung by Kate Bush was featured a few weeks earlier on “Magpie” with a short video that inspired me not only to buy the record, but also to read the book.

It was a book that I couldn’t put down and was to re-read twice more, and it encouraged me to explore other classics. Emily Bronte’s sister, Charlotte was going to have the same effect on me some years later with “Jane Eyre”.

Around that time, a partworks series called the Great Writers became available. I collected them and now, have read many of them.

It also gave me ideas for stories of my own.

Sadly though, I no longer have the record as I haven’t got a record player, but I think I still have the album it was on somewhere in my cassette collection.

What’s a song that changed your life?
